The piece

What makes a good piece

The shape of the land does the work.

  • Height makes the piece. Mountains, valleys, lakes between peaks and steep coasts read best. Flat ground stays flat on the piece too.
  • Terrain, not a map. The piece shows the form of the landscape. Houses, roads and names are not on it.
  • Water is cut out. Lakes and sea go through to the black board behind, as on our other pieces.

Before you order

Questions

What happens after I order?

We go through your area before we make anything. If something needs adjusting we email you. Then we print the relief, mount it in the frame and ship it within 1-2 weeks. Delivery takes about 4 working days.

What if I'm not sure which area to choose?

Use "Let us help". You tell us the place and what should be in it, we choose the area and email you pictures of the finished piece. You give feedback, we adjust, and when you're happy we send a purchase link. It's free to ask and you only pay if you order. We usually reply within 24 hours.

How close is the preview to the real piece?

It shows the same area, the same relief and the same frame. The finished piece is built at full resolution, usually from more detailed elevation data than the preview, so the detail is sharper than on screen.

What does Subtle, Natural and Dramatic mean?

How high the relief stands. Natural is how we make our own pieces. Subtle is lower and calmer. Dramatic raises the peaks and deepens the valleys. The preview shows how high your relief will stand.

How big is the piece?

25 × 25 cm is the landscape itself; with the frame it is 28 × 28 cm. 50 × 50 cm is twice the size. It arrives framed and ready to hang.

What does shipping cost?

Free within Sweden. For other countries you see the cost at checkout before you pay.

Can I change something after ordering?

Yes, until we start making it. Reply to your order confirmation or write to frmdsweden@gmail.com with your order number.

Can I get another shape or a larger piece?

Yes, as a special order. It takes longer than our usual 1-2 weeks because we design it for you. Special order
