About FRMD
FRMD is three founders in Stockholm who turn real places into 3D pieces for the wall. Every piece is built in our own technology, ALTIFORM, printed layer by layer in Stockholm and mounted by hand in a frame of oak or black.
Our collection has 23 places, from Kebnekaise to the Matterhorn - and with FRMD By You, any other place on earth.
What is an FRMD piece?
A piece of a real place - the mountain, the lake, the island - built from the place's own height data and printed in relief, so you see the ridges and valleys from across the room and feel them with your hand.
Our one rule: a piece has to be recognisable. So we choose every area with care and tune every model by hand before it is printed.

Our own 3D technology
Every place is built in ALTIFORM, the workflow we developed ourselves, from the most detailed height data there is for it. How it works

Printed in Stockholm
A matte white relief in PLA, printed layer by layer through a 0.4 mm nozzle, then mounted by hand.

Framed in oak or black
The frame comes from a frame workshop in Saltsjö-Boo. Every piece is made to order and gone over by us before it ships.
Our story
Every piece starts with a place. FRMD started with an empty wall and three 17-year-olds who wanted to put something on it that meant something. This is how it has gone so far.

2024
An empty wall
Leo and Adam wanted something on their walls that meant something. They showed the idea to Leo's brother Jack, who wanted in straight away. The first prototype: all of Sweden in relief, on a black board, in the afternoon sun.

The first pieces sold
The first order in the shop is Sverige. Åre follows a few weeks later - and that winter we take it out into the snow to photograph it.

FRMD By You
Customers can pick any place on earth themselves, draw the square on the map and see it in 3D before they order. The first order comes in that October.

ALTIFORM
We build our own way from place to model: the finest height data, checked against reality and tuned by hand. The Alps come in, and the shop grows to 23 places.

The first keyrings: Åre and Kebnekaise in their real terrain, on a plate of stainless steel. Open for preorder.
